Equipment used on “Alone With The Blues”
Dear Fans,
Here at deeTone records I receive a lot of positive feedback from
you concerning the “Alone With The Blues.” You enjoy
the sound of the record and are curious to know the equipment that
was used for the recording session.
I appreciate your interest and the positive feedback. I thought
I would let you know some of the equipment that we used.
“Alone With The Blues” was made using
the following:
- Hohner Big River Harmonicas
- 1955 Fender Bassman
- 1964 Fender Blackface Concert
- 1969 Fender Vibro Champ
- 1965 Fender Blackface Princeton Reverb
- Neumann Microphones
- Shure SM-57 Microphones
- Radio Shack “Pancake” Microphones
- Teac Analog Tape Recording Machine
- Two-Inch Ampex Recording Tape
A lot of the recording was done acoustically, that is I played
the harmonica straight into a Neumann microphone that was then run
directly into the mixing console. The songs were sung and played
in a lot of different keys in order to give a variety of ‘colors’
to the overall sound of the CD.
For the amplified numbers, I generally used either the Bassman
and the Concert hooked-up together or the Princeton and the Vibro
Champ together; however, I also used the Vibro Champ alone.
Your support of the music is valued. If you have more questions,
need further information, or want to join our mailing list, please
